I am taking the rest of August/early September off from blogging. I have been going strong with a blog a day since I launched this sucker on April 16th of this year; the response and feedback of which has been absolutely incredible and all-the-more inspiring. I truly am appreciative of every single one of my readers and friends who have supported my path. Having said that, I have reached a point in my life where I need a detox from the life as I have come to know. I am in need of new perspectives, new experiences, and new beginnings and the only way I can see that being a possibility is by completely removing myself from my current state of living.
“Living beings are motivated by a variety of impulses, among which the selfish desire to maintain oneself, to stay alive and happy, is one of the most important. The satisfaction of our instinctive drives, the need for self-expression, the impulse to collect wealth and acquire power, or to do some constructive work, to fulfill whatever we consider our purpose, and many other motives are conjointly responsible for our actions. It is therefore healthy to take stock of these desires and to analyze their justification and biological value in maintaining our homeostasis, our equilibrium, within ourselves and society.” (Hans Selye, Stress Without Distress, pgs 52-53)
I will return to my daily blogs on Monday, September 17th. In the mean time, please feel free to visit my Blog Archives to catch up on all-things JD Perry.
Thank you and enjoy the rest of your northern hemisphere summer/southern hemisphere winter.
