Ever see these words on ingredient labels? It is a loophole via the FDA that allows companies to lump a bunch of fake additives into one huge mask of category.
The FDA has set up the GRAS list – Generally Regarded as Safe. There are 2,800 international food additives and about 3,000 chemicals that fall under the GRAS list, which are added to the food supply each year.
The Average American eats approximately his or her own body weight in food additives – about 150 pounds/year. 15 pounds of that amount is just flavoring agents, preservatives, and dyes. Mind you, all of these fake ingredients are “Generally Regarded as Safe.” How comforting, Mr. Government.
To put these words into an example, let’s have a gander what a typical fast food restaurant’s definition of “Strawberry Flavoring” for a Strawberry Milkshake…
Amyl acetate, amyl butyrate, amyl valerate, anethol, anisyl formate, benzyl acetate, benzyl isobutyrate, butyric acid, cinnamyl isobutyrate, cinnamyl valerate, cognac essential oil, diacetyl, dipropyl ketone, ethyl butyrate, ethyl cinnamate, ethyl heptanoate, ethyl lactate, ethyl methylphenyglycidate, ethyl nitrate, ethyl propionate, ethyl valerbate, heliotropin, hydroxyphrenyl-2butanine (10% solution in alcohol), a-ionone, isobutyl anthranilate, isobutyl butrate, lemon essential oil, maltol, 4-methylacetophenone, methyl anthranilate, methyl benzoate, methyl cinnamate, methyl heptine carbonate, methyl naphthyl ketone, methyl salicylate, mint essential oil, neroli essential oil, nerolin, neryl isobutyrate, orris butter, phenythyl alcohol, rose, rum ether, y-undecalactone, vanillin, and solvent.
Stemming from this example, many people believe they are lactose intolerant when they can actually be food additive intolerant. A grain intolerance can also cause this but that’s for another blog.
Avoid foods that say Natural or Artificial – it’s all bogus.

Can Americans stick their heads up their asses a little further, please, so they can actually see how unhealthy they’re becoming by looking at their vital organs? Because right now the amount of head-sticker-upping is just enough to cover their eyes and ears with the crap that is being fed to us on a daily basis by Big Food, Big Pharma, and the Government.
All the fad diets, the weight loss pills, the glycemic index, the idea that estrogen is good, the idea that soy is good, the idea that saturated fat is bad, the anti-oxidant cures, the incredibly harmful kill-yourself exercise videos, the excuses that alcohol is actually healthy, the grain industry propaganda, the constant drug advertisements telling Men they can get erections agai!, and everything else out there that is a “ONE CLICK FIX“… GTFO.
Greed is killing Americans. Every advertisement I see on TV, on a billboard, in a magazine, on a website… It’s a damn product and a way for jackasses to make money, not a way to be healthy. We tend to not know any better because we’re taught from day one that genetics is factor and that medicine will cure, not food or thought. We’re taught “Eat this food because it’s delicious!” and then “Take this medicine because it’ll ‘help’ you feel better from all the crap you’re eating” and the cycle continues.
